PATCH NOTES 0.45.0 – NOVEMBER 10TH, 2021

Servers will go down November10th at 6pm PT to apply Update 0.45.0.

Ranked Match Improvements

For an improved experience in finding Ranked matches, premade group requirements will be adjusted.

There were some mix-ups and misunderstandings regarding the augments Frailty Infliction and Vampiric Bloodline.

  • For skills that can be recast without setting a new range, only the initial damage will apply Frailty Infliction.
    Skills that did not follow this structure have been changed to work as intended:
    • Jenny: Red Carpet (W)
    • Eva: Light Triad (Q), Phase Vortex (W)
  • The initial damage of the following skills will apply Frailty Infliction and Vampiric Bloodline:
    • Leon: Cannonball (W)
    • Luke: Elbow Grease (W)
  • Extra damage on basic attacks triggered by passive effects that do not require any skill usage will not count as a skill.
    Skills that did not follow this structure have been changed to work as intended:
    • Jenny: Persona (E)
  • Air Supplies Improvements 
    • A variety of Food and Equipment has been added to the Air Supply pool.

  • Xiukai
    • Burnt to a Crisp (R)
      • A casting bar and icon is now present during the duration.


Season 4 ER Pass: Snow Blossom

The Winter Carnival is about to commence! Eternal Return’s first Battle Pass is FINALLY here.

  • The ER Pass will cost 1,520 NP, but will be on sale for 1,190 NP for the next 2 weeks. ER Plus, including 20 levels, is also available for 3,999 NP, but will also be on sale for 3,190 NP!

  • Gain season levels by playing the game or by completing missions. You can purchase ER Points as well. You’ll be able to get NP, skins, emotes, tombstones, and up to 100 other rewards as you level up your ER Pass.

  • The ER Pass will have two tracks: The free and paid pass, each giving you rewards per pass level.

  • ER Pass missions are divided into 10 weeks. New missions will unlock every Wednesday, 19:00 (PT).

    • A base number of 4 missions will be given for everyone and 4 bonus missions will be added for those who purchased the ER Pass.

    • However, your progress will be tracked even if you haven’t purchased the pack and the rewards will be given retroactively if you purchase the pass after completion.


Tombstone

RIP in peace

A tombstone is now placed near corpses upon dying. There’s a variety of tombstones availiable in the ER Pass!

Season 4 Start & Season 3 Rewards

Season 4 has begun.

  • Your MMR will be soft-reset based on your preseason ranking.

 

Season 3 Rewards will be given out.

  • Gold or higher in 1 mode: Cadet Hyejin

  • Gold or higher in 2 modes: Sua Borgir Emote

  • Platinum or higher in 1 mode: Dazed and Confused Emote

  • Borders will also be given out for each mode.





 

New Character - Johann

Johann has arrived on Lumia to pray for the damned.

Johann will cost 9,900 A-Coin for 2 weeks and he will be available in ranked matches starting from Monday, November 15th 11:00 PM (PT).



Light's Blessing (Passive)

Johann’s tenacity is increased by 5%. Johann gains extra tenacity when consuming specific items, increasing up to 25%.

  • Holy Water: 8%

  • Purified Water: 2%

Upon getting a kill or assist, Johann grants a shield to all allies, absorbing 100/150/200(+Attack Power 100%) damage for 2/2.5/3 seconds.


Radiant Brilliance (Q)

Johann casts holy light in the targeted direction. The light is enhanced after touching a Transcendent Censer.

When reactivated or reaching the max distance, the light bursts dealing 50/80/110/140/170(+Skill Amplification * 0.6) skill damage. When enhanced, the light deals 90/130/170/210/250(+Skill Amplification * 1.0) skill damage and roots enemies for 1 second.

The light returns to Johann, healing allies that come into contact with it for 20/30/40/50/60(+30 %of damage dealt to test subjects). When enhanced, the healing is increased to 20/40/60/80/100(+40% of damage dealt to test subjects).

  • Cooldown : 12/11/10/9/8s

  • SP Cost : 100


Transcendent Censer (W)

Johann sets his censer at the targeted location for 6 seconds. Censers have 6 HP, increasing by 2 for each ally in range when the censer is set.

While inside the smoke, enemies are slowed by 30% and allies gain 30/35/40/45/50% attack speed. Allies retain the attack speed bonus for up to 3 seconds upon leaving the smoke.

Transcendent Censers can be moved once. The cooldown is reduced to 8 seconds (Can be reduced through Cooldown Reduction) if the censer survives until the end of its duration.

  • Cooldown : 20/18/16/14/12s

  • SP Cost : 80/90/100/110/120


Divine Scripture (E)

Johann blesses an ally with divine scripture, removing all slows.

The blessed target's movement speed is increased by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% for 3 seconds. The blessing deals 50/80/110/140/170(+Attack Power 30%) skill damage and blocks the vision of enemies nearby for 1 second upon expiration.

Johann’s movement speed is increased by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% when moving towards an ally blessed with Divine Scripture.

  • Cooldown : 20/18/16/14/12s

  • SP Cost : 70/80/90/100/110


Faith Unwavering (R)

Johann consecrates the area around him, pushing away nearby enemies, dealing 160/220/280(+Attack Power 35%) skill damage, and healing allies for 100/150/200(+5/7.5/10% of their missing HP). Activating Faith Unwavering also causes Transcendent Censers to push away enemies.

Johann can channel Faith Unwavering for up to 4 seconds, increasing the defense of allies in range by 20/40/60 and healing them for 40/80/120(+Attack Power 40%) every second. Johann is slowed but unstoppable during the duration. Reactivate Faith Unwavering to cancel it early.

New Weapon Type - Arcana


  • Base Attack Range : 4.65m

  • Base Attack Speed: 0.52 Attacks per Second

  • 2.9% Skill Amplification, 0.4% Cooldown Reduction, 1% Attack Speed Increase per Mastery Level


VF Dispersions (D)

Harness 2/3 spheres of condensed VF energy.

Reactivate VF Dispersion to send a sphere in the targeted location which explodes, dealing 40/60(+Attack Power 50%) damage.

Hitting an enemy with multiple spheres within 5 seconds triggers additional effects.

2 Hits: Slow enemies by 25% for 2 seconds.

3 Hits: Stun enemies for 1 second.

  • Cooldown : 45/40s


New Skins & Emotes

Street Fiend Luke will be given out for players who have participated in the event. The skin will be available for purchase on January 6th.

Lobby Improvements

New lobby, same Eternal Return that you love so much.



Wild Animals & Objective Item Improvements

Item drops for EVERYTHING has been changed. “Aesop can you make the first chicken drop leather?” How about EVERY CHICKEN DROPS LEATHER NOW

  • Chickens now have 2 slots. One is always Leather. The other is 80% Meat, 20% Egg.

  • Bats have a higher chance to drop Nail, Scissors, Bandage, Binoculars, Holy Grail, or Buddhist Scripture. Gunpowder has been added to their loot table. Scrap Metal and Laser Pointer have been removed from their loot table.

  • Boars have a higher chance to drop Snare, Mousetrap, Monk's Robe, Cloth, Flower, Iron Ore, Glass Bottle, Playing Cards, and Feather. Holy Grail and Surveillance Cameras have been removed from their loot table.

  • Wild Dogs have a higher chance to drop Battery, Lighter, Gemstone, and Scrap Metal. Surveillance Camera, Gunpowder, Buddhist Scripture, and Binoculars have been removed from their loot table.

  • Wolves now have a lower drop rate for Meteorite and Mithril.

  • Bears have a higher chance to drop Steel, Oilcloth, Heated Oil, Ruby, Ash, Electronic Parts, Blueprint, Iron Sheet, Gold, and Heated Stone and will have a lower chance to drop Cell Phone. Respawned bears will now have a higher chance to drop Tree of Life or Meteorite.

  • Alpha’s random drop (excluding Mithril and Recon Drone) is now either Chain Coif, Leather Armor, Leather Shield, Chain Leggings, Quiver, Water, or Piano Wire.

  • Omega’s random drop (excluding Force Core or EMP Drone) is now either Holy Water or Tear of Selene.

  • Wickeline will have a lower chance to drop Meteorite, Mithril, or Tree of Life, but Holy Water and Tear of Selene have been added to her loot table.


LP Changes

Ranked points for team modes are being adjusted a bit.

  • To stop irregular MMR groupings, if a team has a teammate who is Titan or higher, the team’s MMR will be calculated based on the player with the highest MMR.

  • The high rate of points for kill/deaths in team modes will be slightly toned down.

 

Map UI Improvements

Information will be provided more consistently!

  • The (Tab) map and Hyperloop map will now display locations for objectives.

  • When using the remaining targeted items option, if the number of remaining items are low, the blue filter is removed to show better clarity for the map.

  • Map UI has been optimized.


Other Improvements

Picking Up Items Improvements

  • Picking up items will no longer cancel casting. You can now pick up items from the ground while crafting, resting, opening Air Supplies, operating Security Consoles, and Hyperlooping.

  • Characters now have a slightly longer range to pick up items. Ole Longarms.


Game Start Movement Speed Improvements

  • The movement speed boost upon game start is now longer by 2 seconds. You can now move faster to another location if you aren’t vibing on your starting position.

 

Info Overlay Default Change

  • The Info Overlay (F8) will default to ON for new accounts.

 

Augment Auto Select

Biggest change in the whole patch.

  • Augments from the last game will now be automatically selected per test subject.

 

Team Finder & Friends Improvements

  • A sound effect and popup will be displayed upon completion. The popup will disappear after 2 seconds if not clicked. The game will also flash in your task bar.

  • Total friends count is now increased to 150. This’ll help if you’re popular or the friendliest.

 

Team Color Improvements in Observer Mode.

No more ORANGE vs SLIGHTLY PALER ORANGE

  • Colors have been improved for better clarity for spectators.

 

Saved Plan Improvements

  • Mode categories for Solo/Duo/Squad are now removed.

  • Bread/Water can now be removed from your saved plan.

 

Replay

  • A button for replays is now added to your match history, enabling you to start replays without entering Game IDs.

Leveling your Health Mastery should no longer be absolutely essential with the changes from Max HP increase to out of combat regen stats.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

Gameplay Improvements

  • Trimmed some bush shapes to increase vision consistency.

  • Shuriken/Throw weapons no longer fail to work upon reviving if you have 2 or more weapons.

  • Sound effects are no longer heard through fog of war while spectating teammates.

  • Movement commands are now properly canceled after using a skill.

  • Ally corpses are no longer created multiple times in certain situations.

  • AI bots are fixed to now properly equip items.

  • Restricted area timers will no longer cover up nicknames of players when zoomed out in spectator mode.

  • Dying to Alpha will no longer display inaccurate info in certain situations.

  • Tenacity stats are now correctly additive when calculated.

  • Entrances into buildings and other areas will no longer be hidden due to camera angles.

  • Air supply indicators will no longer be covered up by terrain in some places in Beach.

  • Warning lights will no longer rotate the wrong way when vision is first gained or restricted areas are set.

  • Clicking an enemy while dead in team modes will no longer play the enemy character’s voicelines.


Character & Weapon Improvements

  • Nathapon: Panorama (E) will now properly knock back enemies that move out of range just as Nathapon’s basic attack animation starts.

  • Nathapon: Food can no longer be eaten during statis from F-Stop (R).

  • Daniel: Damaging an enemy just as Growing Inspiration (W)’s mark is completed no longer causes vision sharing in a certain range.

  • Daniel: Using Masterpiece (R) no longer causes Daniel’s HP bar to be visible to others.

  • Leon: Duck Dive (E)’s reappearing location is now fixed to work properly in places with elevation.

  • Leon: Surf's Up (R) now provides casting bar during casting.

  • Luke: Clean Sweep (Q) now properly displays upgraded effects when evolved.

  • Li Dailin: Striking Tiger (R) now properly ends upon activation of Jenny’s Play Dead (P).

  • Rio: Switching to Daikyu after casting the first cast of Fleeting Soul (Hankyu (R)) will no longer display Spirit Arrow (Daikyu (R)) available for a short amount of time.

  • Magnus: Bike From Hell (R) will not be cast in the wrong direction when hovering the cursor over certain walls.

  • Magnus: High placement voicelines are now fully played.

  • Magnus: Stunning an enemy with Heavy Strike (E) now accurately displays stun indicators.

  • Barbara: BT Sentry Gun Mk.II (Q) no longer continues to attack summons.

  • Xiukai: Xiukai now looks in the right direction when taunted during Burnt to a Crisp (R).

  • Sissela: Effects for Free at Last (R) are now fully displayed during its duration.

  • Adela: Critical strike chance for Control the Center (P) is now fixed to properly apply its intended amount.

  • Green effects for enemy White Queen Adelas will no longer be displayed.

  • Thorn Shackles will now properly activate through Alex’s Double Agent (E).

  • William: The baseball from Windup (W) will now return towards William’s head.

  • William: The baseball from Windup (W) is now properly displayed after crossing the mound.

  • Windblade Yuki’s weapon model is no longer displayed as reversed when equipped with Dual Swords.

  • Zahir: Corpses that had their bracelets retrieved will now properly provide vision for Eye of Azrael (P).

  • Jenny: Vampiric Bloodline will no longer only stack on the first hit of Spotlight (Q).

  • Oblivion Can Wait will no longer deflect damage off of Camilo’s Vuelta (Q) and Cierre (W).

  • Chloe: Nina will no longer spawn inside walls.

  • Chloe: Nina will now properly trigger traps.

  • Chloe: Collisions are now accurately matched with animations.

  • Chloe: Nina’s max range is now displayed as slightly shorter than the actual range. (Precaution for misinputs at max range)

  • Chloe: Thorn Shackles will now properly proc through Puppet Theatre (W)’s second cast.

  • Chloe: Nina’s respawn timer is fixed to properly work when reconnecting.

  • Hart: Enemies with Tenacity will no longer stop dancing mid-cast when Peacemaker (R) is active.

  • Dagger: The slow from Cloak and Dagger (D) will properly apply Airborne if hit by Xiukai’s Wok It Off (E).

  • Shuriken: The outline for Caltrops (D) will now stay for its full duration.


Augments & Unique Passive Improvements

There were some mix-ups and misunderstandings regarding the augments Frailty Infliction and Vampiric Bloodline.

  • For skills that can be recast without setting a new range, only the initial damage will apply Frailty Infliction.
    Skills that did not follow this structure have been changed to work as intended:
  • Jenny: Red Carpet (W)
  • Eva: Light Triad (Q), Phase Vortex (W)

  • The initial damage of the following skills will apply Frailty Infliction and Vampiric Bloodline:
    • Leon: Cannonball (W)
    • Luke: Elbow Grease (W)
  • Extra damage on basic attacks triggered by passive effects that do not require any skill usage will not count as a skill.
    Skills that did not follow this structure have been changed to work as intended:
    • Jenny: Persona (E)
  • Air Supplies Improvements 
    • A variety of Food and Equipment has been added to the Air Supply pool.
  • Dismantle Goliath is fixed to not work on summons.

  • Using Dismantle Goliath will no longer negate traps.

  • Vampiric Bloodline will now properly stack multiple times when hitting multiple enemies with a single skill.

  • Diamond Shard and Thorn Shackles will no longer proc when hitting a crowd control effect on an enemy who is currently Unstoppable.

  • Focused Impact sound effects have been improved.

  • Second Wind effects for Dáinsleif will not display Burgundy 47’s icon when activated.


Lobby Improvements

  • Added an option to toggle lobby animations.

  • Popups for already saved routes will not overlap.

  • Changing your selected character while having the augment tab opened no longer renders the augment tab out of order.

  • Fixed an issue where the game wouldn’t load past the age restriction info screen.

  • The Saved Plans tab no longer overlaps UI on specific resolutions.

  • [Team Finder] Profile icons in the Invitable Friends list will now be properly displayed.

  • [Team Finder] Invalid popups will not be displayed when the server is unavailable for matchmaking.

  • [Team Finder][Match Finder] Mute options will no longer show up for empty slots in the team lobby.

  • [Team Finder] Entering a match after a teammate has declined matchmaking will no longer display Matchmaking Canceled popups.

  • [Team Finder] The lock icon for Normal/Ranked will now be displayed in the proper location.

  • [Team Finder] Notifications now properly disappear after some time when changing modes or servers.

  • [Team Finder] Popups are now properly closed when clicking other parts of the screen when the lobby is minimized.

  • [Team Finder] Matchmaking cancel popups will now properly be displayed upon cancellation.

  • [Team Finder] Mode change popups will now properly be displayed upon changing.

  • [Voice Chat] The team mute option will now work properly when you are alone in the lobby.

  • Cursors are now properly displayed when clicking Search Friend on specific resolutions in windowed mode.

  • Character numbers in results screens for custom games are no longer sometimes pushed down.

  • Practice mode and Replay bugs have been improved overall.
