PATCH NOTES 0.48.0 – DECEMBER 22ND, 2021

Hello friends, Aesop here with some big patch notes for the newest version of Eternal Return, v0.48.0. Echion is comin' to town and his skills are beefy. Please read them. And the rest of the stuff. Read that too. Thanks.

Servers will go down December 22nd at 6 PM (PT) to apply Update 0.48.0.

New Character - Echion

“Don't be the idiot looking for a reason to fight. Just fight.”

Weilding his own VF Prosthetic weapon type, Echion takes on Lumia Island.

Echion will cost 9,900 A-Coin for 2 weeks and he will be available in ranked matches starting from December 28th (KST).


Call of Cadmus (Passive)

Echion cannot equip or unequip weapons. When leveling up Call of Cadmus, Echion becomes uncontrollable for 1 second as he enhances his weapon.

  • Passive 1 → 2 Weapon Mastery : Uncommon (160)

  • Passive 2 → 3 Weapon Mastery : Rare (280)


  • Death Adder

While VF Overflow is active, Echion's basic attacks deal an additional 35% damage and Death Adders have Biotic Infusion.

  • Black Mamba

Echion gains 3 extra VF when using Crescent Viper and Dry Bite. The duration of VF Overflow is increased by 2 seconds and Envenomization sends out an extra wave, dealing extra damage and knocking enemies airborne. Echion is healed for 50% of the damage dealt by Envenomization.


  • Sidewinder

The cooldown of Keeled Scales is permanently reduced by 25%. While VF Overflow is active, Sidewinders have Swift Strides and slow enemies hit by Envenomization.

Crescent Viper (Q)

Echion launches a pulse of focused VF from his arm, dealing 20/35/50/75/90(+Attack Power 40%) cellular damage and healing himself for 20/25/30/35/40% of damage dealt. If Echion damages an enemy, he can use Crescent Viper again within 2 seconds.

Recast: Echion launches a wider pulse, dealing 20/45/70/95/120(+Attack Power 50%) cellular damage and slowing enemies hit by 50/55/60/65/70% for 1 second.

Crescent Viper's range is drastically reduced during Exuviation. 

  • Cooldown : 6s

  • VF granted on use : 10/11/12/13/14, 14/16/18/20/22

  • Projectile Speed : 16.3m/s, (Re-Cast)17m/s

  • Range : 9m, (Re-Cast)7m

  • Radius : 0.5m, (Re-Cast)0.75m

  • Exuviation : Does not fire projectiles and range is reduced to 2m.



Keeled Scales (W)

Echion consumes up to 50 of his stored VF to create a barrier around him, absorbing 50/65/80/95/110(+Attack Power 15%) damage. Shield strength is increased by 300% of VF consumed.

If the shield absorbs damage equal to 100% or more of its amount, 60/70/80/90/100% of the consumed VF is restored. (Gauge can not exceed 99)

  • Cooldown : 10/9.5/9/8.5/8s

  • VF Cost : 1 ~ 50 (Can not be cast with 0 VF)

  • Shield Duration : 5s

  • Exuviation : Can not be cast due to VF being disabled.



Dry Bite (E)

Echion dashes in the targeted direction, dealing 20/40/60/80/100(+Attack Power 30%) cellular damage and marks the first target hit for 4 seconds. Hitting an unmarked enemy resets the cooldown of Dry Bite.

The range of the dash is reduced during Exuviation.

  • Cooldown : 18/17/16/15/14s

  • VF granted on use : 15/16/17/18/19

  • Dash Range : 4.5m (During Exuviation 3.5m)

  • Dash Duration : 0.3s

  • Radius : 0.6m



VF Overflow (R - Normal State)

Echion gains VF whenever he uses an offensive skill. Echion's skills do 1/1.33/1.66/2% additional damage per 1 VF and 0.35% additional damage per 1% of Skill Amplification. Damage increase based on VF is disabled while VF Overflow is active.

VF Overflow : When Echion's VF gauge is filled, the cooldown of Dry Bite is reset and he enters a state of VF Overflow for 7 seconds. 

During VF Overflow, Echion's movement speed is increased by 8/9/10/11%, he deals 0/15/20/25(+Attack Power 10%) true damage every second nearby to enemies, and can use Envenomization. Crescent Viper and Keeled Scales can not be used during VF Overflow. Killing an enemy during VF Overflow increases its duration by 5 seconds.

Exuviation : After VF Overflow expires, Echion is slowed by 8%, his attack range is reduced by 0.3m, and his VF Gauge can not be filled for 14 seconds.

  • Out of Combat VF Gauge loss : 2 per second

  • Nearby Enemy Damage Radius : 2m



Envenomization - Viper (R - During Overflow)

Echion fires unstable VF in the targeted direction, dealing 90/120/150/180(+Attack Power 100%) cellular damage. Hitting an enemy with Envenomization extends the duration of VF Overflow by 1.5 seconds.

Basic attacks reduce the cooldown of Envenomization by 1 second.

  • Cooldown  : 3s (Fixed)

  • Range : 6m

  • Radius : 1.2m



Envenomization - Death Adder (R - During Overflow)

Echion fires unstable VF in the targeted direction, dealing 90/120/150/180(+Attack Power 100%) cellular damage. Hitting an enemy with Envenomization extends the duration of VF Overflow by 1.5 seconds.

Basic attacks reduce the cooldown of Envenomization by 1 second.

  • Cooldown  : 3s (Fixed)

  • Range : 6m

  • Radius : 1.2m



Envenomization - Black Mamba (R - During Overflow)

Echion fires unstable VF in the targeted direction, dealing 100/140/180/220(+Attack Power 100%) cellular damage. After 0.85 seconds, the unstable VF erupts an additional time, dealing damage equal to 45/55/65/75% of the previous eruption and knocking enemies airborne for 0.75 seconds. Echion heals for 50% of damage dealt by Envenomization.

Hitting an enemy with Envenomization extends the duration of VF Overflow by 1.5 seconds.

Basic attacks reduce the cooldown of Envenomization by 1 second.

Envenomization - Sidewinder (R - During Overflow)

Echion fires unstable VF in the targeted direction, dealing 100/140/180/220(Attack Power 100%) cellular damage and slowing enemies hit by 30/40/50/60%. Hitting an enemy with Envenomization extends the duration of VF Overflow by 1.5 seconds.

Basic attacks reduce the cooldown of Envenomization by 1 second.

VF Prosthetic System

Thanks to Aglaia’s effort, Echion has been equipped with a VF Prosthetic that forms his VF into a blade of light, enabling Echion to use it as a weapon.

  • Echion does not use original weapons. He can only use his VF Prosthetic and can evolve it through his passive, Call of Cadmus.

  • Evolved VF Prosthetics can be strengthened using Meteorite, Tree of Life, Mithril, Force Core, and VF Blood Sample.

Lumia Weather Forecast - Snow


The forecast calls for snow the next 2 weeks on Lumia! Gotta get the bread and milk.

  • Bears and Air Supplies will be changed to match the mood.

  • The snow map can be disabled during the Area/Augment selection screen if you don’t like it.

  • The snow map will be available for 2 weeks, and will be polished and re-introduced in the future.

 

Alpha/Omega Spawn Improvements

“Beep boop I will no longer spawn in restricted area beep.” That’s how I imagine Alpha and Omega talk. 

  • Alpha & Omega will now spawn in areas that are not set to be restricted.

  • The algorithm was changed from pre-determining the spawn locations at the start of the game to adapt to the current situation.

 

Augment display on Results/Match History/Spectator Mode

Check the augments of others with ease.

  • The Core Augment of each player will be displayed on the Results and Match History screen.

  • The Core Augment of each player will be displayed on the bottom UI during Spectator mode.

 

Stopping when Raising

STOP MOVING!!!!!

  • Allies will now stop moving when getting up in team modes.

 

1st Projectile Improvements

No more interceptions.

Projectiles hit a target as soon as a test subject touches any edge of the projectile, which can result in hitting enemies in the opposite direction when the caster is close to an enemy.

We plan to continuously tweak the actual launch position of projectiles to avoid such incidents. Let us know if you see it happening. For now, we’ve covered:

Spotlight : Fiora Rework

Fiora's original skillset was based around a simple idea: go in and basic attack. There wasn't much counterplay no skill expression to it.

Garde,  which was a pretty lackluster "ultimate" ability, is getting a whole remake along with the tweaks for her other skills as well. We hope that players get to demonstrate lots of new skills in the field of combat through her improved timing, control, and skill level.

  • Fiora is disabled for Ranked modes until December 28th. (KST)

  • Stacks can now only be stacked through hitting Fiora’s skills, and the number of stacks and its duration are increased.

Gameplay Improvements

  • Added restriction to ping spamming (CTRL/ALT).

  • ’Reset Character’ in practice mode now also resets evolution points for skills.

  • Last Word effects are now visible in spectator mode.

  • Sticky Bomb no longer triggers Burden regardless of its cooldown when swapped.

  • Temporal Refraction now properly blocks damage from traps.

Character & Weapon Improvements

  • Nadine: Squirrel Traps (W) are now properly disabled when affected by EMP Drones.

  • Luke/Hart: Skill evolution can again be properly leveled through hotkeys.

  • Barbara: Using Short Circuit (R-Q) after setting a BT Sentry Gun Mk.II (Q) will no longer cause the cooldown for the sentry gun recall to be reduced.

  • Bianca: Added an effect for enhanced basic attack.

  • Bianca: Healing from Circulation (E) is now properly registered as an AOE skill.

  • Celine: Being affected by 2 or more Blast Wave (E) shockwaves consecutively will no longer cause Celine to moonwalk. (Sorry /u/CiganyNyuszi)

  • Shoichi: Cooldowns now work properly when not casting Bad Faith (Q2) after hitting Good Faith (Q1).

  • Sissela: Free at Last (R) can no longer be removed by CC removal.

  • Arcana: VF Dispersion (D)’s damage radius effect is now properly aligned with its actual radius.

Lobby Improvements
