PATCH NOTES 0.53.0 – MARCH 2ND, 2022

Servers will go down March 2nd at 6 PM (PT) to apply Update 0.53.0.


Hello my dear friends. Aesop here with patch 0.53.0 featuring the artist of life - Tia!

And, of course, some rather signifigant balance updates. I know you guys always love those and support every balance decision we always make 100% of the time.

Alright, let’s get started!


Patch Note Fixes

Due to technical issues surrounding the mastery change, we’re expanding the first craft mastery changes to affect all items.

  • Original: First Weapon Crafting Bonus 25% → 100%
  • Changed: All Items First Crafting Bonus 25% → 100%
  • (NEW) All mastery gain from crafting items excluding Weapons will be decreased by 37.5%



New Character - Tia

The bat wielding artist Tia is here to paint a new story on Lumia Island!

Tia will cost 9,900 A-Coin during the first 2 weeks after release. She will be available in ranked matches starting from March 8th (KST).

Color Mixing (P)

Tia can paint enemies with 2 different colors with Brush Stroke and A Dash of Color to activate Chipmunk effects. Tia also gains 6 Attack Power for every 10% of her Cooldown Reduction.

[Mad Chipmunk]
Painting an enemy with Red and Yellow activates Mad Chipmunk, silencing them and dealing 12/24/36/48/60(+Attack Power 25%)(+Skill Amplification 50%) true damage 4 times over 2 seconds.

[Blessed Chipmunk]
Painting an enemy with Red and Blue activates Blessed Chipmunk, dealing 30/60/90/120/150(+Attack Power 10%)(+Skill Amplification 100%) true damage, healing Tia and increasing her movement speed by 24/28/32/36/40%, decaying over 1.5 seconds.

[Magic Chipmunk]
Painting an enemy with Blue and Yellow activates Magic Chipmunk, dealing 60/90/120/150/180(+Attack Power 15%)(+Skill Amplification 120%) true damage and rooting them for 1 second.


Brush Stroke (Q) 

Passive: Activating Brush Stroke automatically switches Tia's palette to her next color.

Q1 - Yellow
Tia tosses her yellow paint tube in the targeted direction, which explodes in a 1.5m radius, dealing 40/60/80/100/120 (+Attack Power 45%) skill damage to enemies, slowing them by 20% for 1 second, and painting them Yellow.

  • Explosion Range : Circular sector 4m radius

  • SP Cost: 70

Q2 - Red
Tia swings her paint brush, dealing 40/60/80/100/120 (+Attack Power 45%) skill damage to enemies. Enemies hit by the bristles have their vision reduced by 90% for 0.7 seconds and are painted Red.

  • Paint Range: Outer Range 2m

  • SP Cost: 70


Q3 - Blue
Tia slams her paint brush on the ground, dealing 40/60/80/100/120 (+Attack Power 45%) skill damage. Hitting an enemy with the bristles paints them Blue and knocks them airborne for 0.5 seconds. Hitting an enemy in the inner range deals an extra 40/50/60/70/80 skill damage.

Palette Swap (W)

Tia changes the color of paint on her brush. Colors switched in the order of Yellow, Red, Blue. Tia recharges her palette faster based on the skill level.

  • Yellow 7.5 / 6.5 / 5.5s

A Dash of Color (E) 

Passive: Activating A Dash of Color automatically switches Tia's palette to her next color.

Tia dashes in the targeted direction, dealing 30/60/90/120/150 (+Attack Power 50%) skill damage to enemies hit and painting them the current color of her brush.

  • Dash Range : 7m

  • SP Cost : 60/65/70/75/80

  • Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10s



Full Rainbow (R)

Tia paints with her largest paintbrush in the target location, dealing 150/250/350 (+Attack Power 80%) skill damage to enemies and stunning them for 0.7 / 0.9 / 1.1 seconds. If the enemy was already painted with any color, the stun duration is increased by 0.5 seconds.

  • Range : 4m Radius

  • SP Cost : 80 / 90 / 100

  • Cooldown: 80 / 75 /70s



New Skins & Emotes

Mobster Jenny (Uncommon) will be available for purchase.

You didn't see anything. It'd be wise for you to remember that.


Blue Orchid Camilo (Uncommon) will be available for purchase on March 8th (KST).

Much like the impossible blue rose, I took a white orchid and turned it blue. 


Nadine Emotes will be available for purchase.



System

Dividing Items per Mode

Some items displayed wildly different data across various modes. We’re now dividing the item database for certain items to differ per mode.

Solo/Duo/Squad will all have a similar roster of items, but some items may be adjusted for each mode.

  • Some items will now have different stats for each mode. The names for items will slightly adjusted based on the changes as well. (Mk2)

  • Some items are now unique to specific modes.

  • Respite & Nullification are returning to Team Modes. Respite has been adjusted to last longer.

  • Check ‘Accessory’ below for more details.


Search by Item Stats

Just type “attack range” to find that sneaky Dragon Dobok in the menu.

  • Terms such as Attack Power, Skill Amplification, etc can be used to search items.

  • Unique effects such as Healing Reduction, Temporal Refraction can also be used for searching.


Character Trial Feature

We could all use some more practice!

  • You can now head right to the Practice Mode while checking out the Character menu in the lobby.


Temporary Restricted Areas (Solo) - Restricted Area Timer Limit Removal

Killing other test subjects in temporary restricted areas now grants you more rewards!

  • After the temporary restricted areas are set, the timer limit will be removed.

  • You now exceed the 40s limit during this time.


Temple Wells & School Water Fountains

Remember when the kid in front of you at the water fountain took too long and you were like “Hey! Save some for the fishes!”

  • A water fountain has been added near the School gym. (Y’know, in case you need it after gym class)

  • A well has been added inside Temple. (NOT haunted)

Mastery & EXP

To match the accelerated tempo, you can now level up quicker than before.

  • EXP needed for leveling up: 920 + Current Level * 550 → 920 + Current Level * 500

To temper strategies where players would craft a ton of weapons to gain an advantage, we’re decreasing the weapon & craft mastery granted for crafting multiple weapons

Silvia

Bug fixes. 

  • Spare Tire (Human E)

    • The projectile is adjusted to now start in front of Silvia.

  • Wheelie (Bike E)'s additional damage based on her movement speed is now fixed to work properly. With the bug fix, the skill will now deal less damage when Silvia’s movement speed is lower and more damage when her movement speed is higher.


Adela

You really didn’t see that coming? We’re shifting some of Adela’s base stats to her ultimate to prevent her helpless enemies from dying en passant with her Q.

Ask and you shall receive. (And you guys really… really.. asked.)

Smolder was first designed to counter tank characters but ended up synergizing with more defensive builds. (Smolder, you’ve become the very thing you swore to destroy!) We tried to alleviate the issues surrounding it, but conclusively decided to remove Smolder and replace it with regular old Basic Attack Amplification. (RIP Smolder memes 2021-2022)

Bug Fixes & Improvements

Gameplay Improvements

  • Active effects will now be displayed as disabled on the hotkey button when they can’t be used.

  • Observers can now use left and right square brackets to zoom in/out. (That’s these: [ ])

  • Wrong icons for active item skills have been fixed.

  • Various other bugs have been fixed overall.


Character & Weapon improvements

  • Nadine: Bullseye (Q) will no longer slightly move to the left when using a Crossbow.

  • Nathapon: Characters can now properly evade attacks with dodging effects when applied with Panorama (E).

  • Laura: Biotic Infusion is now properly applied when casting Thorn Lilac (Q).

  • Laura: The indicator and actual range for Calling Card (W) have been fixed to accurately match.

  • Bianca: Bianca’s Blood bar will no longer disappear upon being downed/killed.

  • Isol: Killing an enemy with Rebel Assault (W) will no longer sometimes leave behind the visual effects for the skill.

  • Isol: Base skin effects for MOK Operational Mine (R) will no longer appear with the Spirit Hunter skin.

  • Aiden: Improved sound effects for Overcharge basic attacks, Volt Cannon (Q), and Backstep (E).

  • Chloe: Rest sound effects are no longer played to opponents.

  • Various other bugs have been fixed overall.
