An archaeologist who is only interested in the artifacts he studies and has little regard for others or his looks. In fact, he has been focusing his research on the long-gone past due to his strong curiosity about it — the type of past that doesn't come up in history books, to be more precise. 

And through his unique ability he found in the artifacts he examines, the mysteries and lost knowledge of that captivating distant past. Wondering how and why that power was given to him, and if there were any others like him.

It is also said that in the past he committed a foolish mistake that now makes him feel he is no longer deserving of the title of scholar. Would anyone happen to know what that mistake was?
