Hello Lumia Island survivors!
The Season 1 Finals in Daejeon, which was supported by many fans, ended with great success. As it was the first tournament after Official Launch, more people joined us than usual!
The Eternal Return Season 1 Final in Daejeon, where a total of 12 teams competed for the title, was held on October 28th and 29th at the Daejeon Dream Arena, an esports stadium in Daejeon.
Let's take a look at how the teams fared!
DAY 1 : SEMIFINALS
On Day 1, where good results were needed to advance to Day 2, MZ Club was the first to run. Myeongjo's Marcus opened up the fight with a precise angle, and the rest of the team responded with a fiery battle.
HappyGaming's WiD also had some sharp moments on the day.
There was a scene where ChamYeon predicted exactly where Adriana was going to move and executed a Blink+Queen combo. It was a scene that clearly explained why this player always showed Adela.
There was also a great scene with Alto from the Fairy team as Laura. During the battle in Factory, his teammates went down first and he was wiped out, but he didn't give up and took two players from the ClusteR team down, which showed his incredible concentration in the battle.
The Launch Pad in Pond became the graveyard for many teams on this day. Cadmus' fake sends two players from the Wild Hunter team flying to the opposite side of the field, knocking them down one after the other. Pond was also the scene of many hilarious moments, including the Tricksters jumping over to the Launch Pad for a quick merge, only to be gobbled up by the Asher team, who were already waiting for them.
After an intense Day 1, the four teams advancing to Day 2 were Asher, MZ Club, Tricksters, and ClusteR. With these teams having shown their battle skills well on Day 1, it's safe to say that Day 2 was going to be an exciting lineup, so let's take a look at how Day 2 played out.
DAY 2 : GRANDFINALS
Day 2 was a checkpoint-only day, so there was a lot of early action to secure killpoints. There was a great moment when danana from MIRAEN SEJONG took out Ly Anh with a joker pick in Round 1, and we’re sure a lot of people thought twice about Ly Anh after seeing her take out a trapped opponent in Alley in an instant.
It's the finals, after all, and there were some players who didn't want to miss out on even the smallest of kill points. Bible's Laura was a constant menace in Temple on this day, as she relentlessly dug in for kills in level 3, and it was clear that she was determined to earn every last point she could.
Zerojin's Zahir was on fire on Day 2. Despite being ambushed while using the security console, he remained calm as he positioned himself and landed skill after skill on his opponents, reminding us why this player has been competing since the early days. In particular, the 3v3 between MZ Club and Favor in the Restricted Area at the end of Round 4 was one of the highlights of the day, and we highly recommend watching it in the highlights video.
Blink+Queen, a brilliant play that Adela would showcase once in a while, was played by gwork. There was a way to accurately hit Queen at Revolu's Hart, making the fight itself impossible. As expected, a player who is very much in line with Adela's near-perfect skill level.
Always in good form, OwO were one of the first teams to reach the checkpoint, using their trademark Nullification + Hart combo to put their opponents in a number of unwinnable situations, showing that they are confident in their ability to pull it off.
A delightful revolt by Team Favor in round 8, when everyone thought it was over, also got a lot of cheers. It was a fight between OwO, who had achieved the checkpoint, and Favor, who hadn't, when DaSoo's charm accurately hit Revolu and succeeded in bringing the battle to his advantage, with Favor ultimately surviving.
It was very impressive to see the players cheering and saying, "We're in for another round!" when they won.
It was Asher and Favor who met in the final restricted area in Round 9, when Newclear, the only team to fail to reach the checkpoint, was eliminated, confirming that this would be the final round. Mangnani, who showed off Bianca during the season finals, brought out Sua in round 9, but was it a stroke of luck? Showing a great fight at the end, Asher succeeded in putting an end to the match.
Congratulations to Asher's Mangnani, Noguri, and Narvic, who all played really well over the two days!
After the season finals, which ended with Asher winning, the standings were determined as above based on the points accumulated. The score distribution was quite tight, showing that it was more intense than other competitions, which seems to prove that many players prepared a lot this time.
