We’re thrilled to announce some exciting updates for the upcoming Eternal Return Challengers Series Season 5.
North America
We’re introducing a new qualifying format for North America this season!
The competition will be fiercer than ever, with qualifiers added to determine which teams will secure their spots in the weekly series.
Here’s how it works:
- Top 12 Teams: Out of the 16 available slots, the top 12 teams will automatically qualify to compete in the weekly series.
- 4 Remaining Slots: These slots will be contested by the remaining registered teams in a high-stakes qualifier.
Qualifiers will feature:
- Two Lobbies: Each with 8 teams battling it out, with a total of 16 teams.
- One-Day Series: A best-of-six game format. The top 2 teams from each lobby will secure the final 4 spots in the weekly series.
Europe
Just like in North America, the qualifiers will feature intense competition to determine who will make it to the ER Challengers Series Finals.
Here’s how it works:
- Two Lobbies: Each with 8 teams battling it out, with a total of 16 teams.
- One-Day Series: A best-of-six game format. The top 4 teams from each lobby will advance to the ERCS Finals.
Circuit (North America)
To form the Circuit, teams will be seeded through a snake draft into 4 blocks, each containing 4 teams, after advancing from the qualifiers, making a total of 16 teams.
Every week, two blocks will merge, forming two 8-team squad lobbies. Each lobby will engage in 4 games, and team points will be allocated based on their placements (refer to the Circuit matrix below).
Throughout the circuit, all three games' placings for each team will be recorded.
The top team from each block will advance directly to the Grand Finals, while the teams placing 2nd and 3rd in each block will proceed to the Wild Card. The top 4 teams from the Wild Card will secure spots in the Grand Finals.
The Wild Card will consist of best-of-6 games.
The Grand Finals will be a matchpoint series featuring the top teams from each block and the qualifying teams from Wild Card at the end of the circuit.
