<Highlights in ERCS Season 6>
Before we move forward with Season 7, let's take a moment to review the highlights from ERCS Season 6!
<ER: Challengers Series>
Circuit
To form the Circuit, teams will be seeded through a snake draft into 4 blocks, each containing 4 teams, after advancing from the qualifiers, making a total of 16 teams.
Every week, two blocks will merge, forming two 8-team squad lobbies. Each lobby will engage in 4 games, and team points will be allocated based on their placements (refer to the Circuit matrix below).
Throughout the circuit, all three games' placings for each team will be recorded.
The top team from each block will advance directly to the Grand Finals, while the teams placing 2nd and 3rd in each block will proceed to the Wildcard. The top 4 teams from the Wildcard will secure spots in the Grand Finals.
The Wildcard will consist of best-of-6 games.
The Grand Finals will be a matchpoint series featuring the top teams from each block and the qualifying teams from Wildcard at the end of the circuit.
*Seeding is subject to change.
<Changes for ERCS Season 7>
New Point Matrix
Teams will no longer face elimination until Day 2. With this updated format, the Point Matrix has been adjusted to better align with the tournament structure.
Based on various factors, the average kills per team is expected to increase, so the Checkpoint threshold will be set at 80 points.
*The 80-point threshold will be monitored and is subject to change.
<ER: Challengers Cup – The Final Battle>
We’re excited to introduce a brand new competition to the Eternal Return esports scene, ER: Challengers Cup (ERCC)! It will bring fresh competitive opportunities for players.
The top 4 teams from ERCS will receive direct entry into their respective block for the ER: Challengers Cup. Team rosters must remain the same between both events.
To structure the tournament, teams will be seeded through a snake draft into four blocks, each containing 8 teams, making a total of 32 teams.
*Seeding based on Average Squad MMR.
*Seeding is subject to change.
Qualifiers – Day 1
- Four Lobbies: Each with 8 teams battling it out, with a total of 32 teams.
- One-Day Series: A best-of-six game format. The top 4 teams from each lobby will move onto the Semifinals on Day 2.
Semifinals – Day 2
- Two Lobbies: Each with 8 teams battling it out, with a total of 16 teams.
- One-Day Series: A best-of-six game format. The top 4 teams from each lobby will move on to the Finals on Day 3.
Grand Finals – Day 3
- The top 8 teams from the Semifinals will compete in a matchpoint series to determine the ER: Challengers Cup champion.
<Introducing New Character Ban Format in ERCC>
Currently, ERCS uses the 3-PICK-BAN method. The tournament is open to players of all levels, and it’s a competition where everyone brings their best strategies and skills to the table so we believe that the current character ban method is serving its purpose well.
However, to encourage more variety in character selection, we will be introducing the 2-PICK-CAP method in ERCC.
Under the 2-PICK-CAP method, if a team selects the same character twice, that character will be banned for the remainder of the day. We believe this will add more excitement to the tournament and encourage even more strategic depth and creativity.
