PATCH NOTES 1.38 - January 2nd, 2025

Lumia Background

As the holidays have passed, we’re removing the special decorations.

  • The winter-themed background will be available for a limited time.


VLS (Vertical Launching System) Improvements

The overall visual effects of using the VLS will be improved.

  • When using the VLS with teammates, spacing will be adjusted to prevent overlap, creating a more natural and seamless experience.

 

  • While gliding, the altimeter will now display the landing initiation point as 0 instead of the actual altitude, allowing for more accurate tracking of the movement range.


  • A hovering effect will be added to the flying motion, enhancing the sense of floating.

 

  • The gliding rotation speed is being slightly increased for smoother and more responsive handling.

  • In future updates, the transition from maximum altitude to gliding will become smoother, and landing animations will also be improved. (Scheduled for Update 1.40)


Scoreboard (Tab) Map Improvements

We’re applying the improvements rolled out to the Expanded map (M) and Minimap in the 1.37 update to the Scoreboard (Tab) map as well.

  • Hovering over icons while holding Alt will expand the icons for better visibility.

  • Signal pings (Alt + Left Click) can now be applied to objective icons.

  • However, these pings can only be used when the “Show items to collect” feature is off.


Ping Improvements

We’re making improvements to pings to provide more detailed information.

  • When using tactical pings on Objectives, the chat will now display the exact location and Objective name more clearly.


  • Lumi’s location will be disclosed in the chat when using the ping on it.

 

  • Tactical skill levels will now be displayed in the chat when you Alt + Left Click on a tactical skill in the skill window.



Matchmaking Improvements

Asia Server

We’re subdividing high tier queues.

  • The highest-tier queue will now be limited to the top 1,000 players.

    • Players in Mythril tier and above won’t be matched with anyone below 6,600 RP (Meteorite 200 RP).

  • High-tier queues, including Meteorite, will have more matchmaking subdivisions.

Among agile ranged characters with short attack ranges, Rozzi hasn't stood out as much.

We're increasing her basic attack power to raise her average damage and enhancing the proportional damage of Rozzi's R - Semtex Bomb Mk II to scale better against high-HP enemies, allowing her to perform more effectively in those matchups.

Luke

Luke has been recording low score gains. We're increasing his durability and adjusting E - Dirty Work so the execution condition now applies after dealing skill damage.

Lenore

Recent game pacing changes have made it harder for Lenore to stack Screams with P - Melody of Pain. We're lowering the cooldown to allow for more frequent use on the same target, helping her accumulate stacks faster. Additionally, we're enhancing the shield from W - Fine to improve her survivability.

We're increasing the basic attack damage of Barbara's Q - BT Sentry Gun Mk.II to make it harder for opponents to avoid her turrets. Additionally, we're adding a Max HP scaling to her RW Ultra Free-Electron Laser, allowing her to deal more effectively with high-HP enemies.

Yuki has been lagging in both score gains and damage output across both of his weapons. We're increasing his base attack power to address this.

Eleven primarily plays a tank role, but even considering this, her average damage has been too low. We're increasing her HP per level to help her stay alive longer and boosting the damage of her R - Calorie Cyclone to improve her offensive potential.

Jackie's performance across all weapons hasn't been the strongest. We're increasing her base durability to help her engage more confidently and boosting the effectiveness of her E - Leaping Strike when it lands.

Tsubame

Tsubame has been dishing out impressive damage early on, thanks to high attack speed from W - Whirlwind. Additionally, her R - Higuruma's Elimination Technique has been delivering heavy instant damage. We're adjusting this by tuning down the power of both skills.

Karla's been showing high score gain, so we're reducing the slow effect on her W - Sentry Recall to make it harder for her to maintain distance from enemies.

To make Chiara's E - Mania easier to land, we're extending its range. The shackle maintained distance will increase accordingly.

Bugs & Fixes

Gameplay Improvements

  • Alpha and Omega spawn icons will now display correctly.

  • When a Guest lands during VLS gliding, they will now land at their intended location instead of the Host's landing spot.

  • HP bars and nicknames of players gliding with the VLS devices will no longer be visible during descent.

  • We’re making improvements to the VLS tutorial for smoother guidance.

  • Summoning a Mobile VLS in a temporary safe zone will now properly display its unavailable status.

  • Using the Loop Card Key - γ on a Mobile Loop will now take you to the correct Secret Lab, not the Common Lab.

  • Footstep sounds will now play properly when moving while characters dance.

  • Charging skills will now activate as intended when quick casted.

  • The Eye of the Beholder effect from hunting Bats will no longer appear in the Fog of War.

  • Movement through walls in the Mutant Lab will no longer be possible.

  • Multiple players can no longer interact with the Secret Lab activation switch for Credits.

  • When escape from the Secret Lab isn’t possible, a separate icon will now indicate this clearly.

  • The Hyperloop can no longer be used to travel directly to the Escape area.

  • The Escape gadget can now only be used by one player at a time, preventing simultaneous activations.

  • Rapid reconstruction (auto-revival) will now be correctly activated.

  • VLS Guest landing zones will now be visible from the enemy's perspective upon descent.

  • The Urban Warfare augment tooltip will now accurately reflect the number of traps installed.

  • Air Supply Boxes will no longer appear incorrectly in the Fog of War.

  • Credits+ and Credits++ item tooltips will now display the correct Earned Credits in the Crafting Menu (B).

  • Visual effects for the Gates of Hell Tombstone will now display as intended.

  • Hovering the mouse over the VLS device while a teammate is operating the device will no longer say “Unable to Interact”.

  • Spectating after being eliminated: Selecting a downed ally will no longer switch the camera to a surviving teammate.

  • We’ve improved some of Raven’s animations and sound effects.

  • Cobalt Protocol: Characters can now be switched properly during the selection phase.


Character & Weapon Improvements

  • Rozzi: You can now use movement and downed skills properly when downed.

  • Martina: Targets outside the recording area will no longer be incorrectly filmed with Record - Interview (R).

  • Markus: Havoc (W) will now correctly apply Airborne to targets inside the Tectonic Rift of Smash to Smithereens (R).

  • Jan: Bob and Weave (E) will now cast in the intended direction after using Tomahawk Roundhouse (W).

  • Estelle: Helicopter Call (R) can now be correctly used in the Secret Lab.

  • William: Sliding Catch (E)’s movement speed increase effect will now end properly.

  • Eleven: The indicator for On Air! (E) will now be removed if canceled while charging.

  • Zahir: The Eye of Azrael (P) effect will now end correctly.

  • Camilo: He will now face his enemies as intended while using Al Compás (E).

  • Hart: Footstep sounds will now play correctly when she’s walking.

  • Hisui: The tooltip for A Sword's Memory (P) has been updated to clearly display Additional Attack Speed and Additional Attack Power.

  • Hisui: The visual effect for Two-handed Sword’s skill Parry (D) will now be displayed at the correct location.


Lobby Improvements

  • A "Claim All" button has been added to each category in the Challenges > Missions menu for easier rewards collection.

  • Changing the language setting will now prompt a game restart to apply the new language properly.

  • A filter to display only unowned items has been added to the Collectibles menu.

  • Skins in the Collectibles menu can now be filtered by rarity, making it easier to find what you’re looking for.

  • Some items available through probabilities now have a “See info” button for clearer details.

  • Tooltips for emotes that can be acquired through Collections have been updated to indicate that.

  • Collection Vouchers that can unlock items now show the obtainable rewards even before completing the collection.
