Hello everyone,
We’d like to sincerely thank all of you for your continued support of Eternal Return — and offer a special thanks to the talented members of our creative community who continue to bless us with their amazing work and fan creations.
Since the official launch, we’ve seen a growing wave of fan-made content around the world, including 3D models, livestream content, and various forms of character expression. Along with this growth, we’ve also received many questions about what is and isn’t allowed when creating with our IP.
We want you to know that we’re listening and we recognize that our current policy doesn’t fully reflect the evolving and vibrant fan creation landscape.
That’s why we’re actively reviewing the existing policy and considering a revision to better support broader, more flexible creative freedom for secondary works based on Eternal Return.
1. Key Revision Goals
We aim to make our policy clearer and more adaptable. This includes establishing clearer guidelines for:
- The scope of visual expressions such as character facial expressions and poses
- How fan content can be used on video and streaming platforms
- Usage on third-party platforms, including both domestic and international sites
- Refinement of other policy details
Regarding third-party platforms (one of the most frequently asked topics), we’re re-evaluating our stance. Until now, distribution through these platforms has only been allowed with prior written permission due to concerns over mass production and commercial misuse.
However, with more creators using online marketplaces in a small-scale, community-driven way, we’re exploring ways to allow such activity under certain conditions — considering factors like platform type, content form, and purpose of sale.
Our goal is to responsibly support creative freedom by gradually relaxing overly restrictive policies, while still ensuring the integrity and respectful use of our IP.
2. Policies Likely to Remain Unchanged
To protect our IP and prevent misuse, the following restrictions are likely to remain:
- Online distribution of raw 3D modeling data
- Mass production and sales for commercial purposes
- Unauthorized reproduction, distortion, or spreading of false information
3. Current Process Status
- We are reviewing domestic and international examples of fan content
- Internal discussions and legal consultations are underway
- We're analyzing requests and concerns we've received since global launch
4. For Those Who’ve Already Reached Out
If you’ve contacted us previously with questions about fan content, please know we plan to follow up with updated guidance once the revised policy is finalized.
Thank you once again for your passion and creativity.
We’ll do our best to build a healthy environment where the Eternal Return community can continue to grow and thrive together.
As always, thank you for sticking with us!
