Cobalt Protocol Revamp - Overview

  • Cobalt Protocol is a 4v4 mode where you win by reducing the enemy team's Life Points to 0 through defeating opponents and capturing Power Beacons.

  • At the start of each phase, you select an Infusion, an enhancement system exclusive to Cobalt Protocol to strengthen your character.

  • Secure victory by winning battles repeatedly, capturing the Power Beacon in the Central Area, and taking down powerful boss monsters like Omega and Gamma.

Character Selection

  • You can now freely select the character you want to play, as the random character selection system has been removed.

  • While you can pick the same character as the enemy team, you won’t be able to see which characters they’ve chosen.

Map

  • Allied bases have been merged into a single area, and Phase 1 will no longer split teams into 2v2 starting positions.

  • The Bio Sector, where wild animals spawned, has been removed.

  • Some exterior walls around Power Beacons have been removed, allowing for freer movement across the map.

Equipment Purchase

  • Shred items and the Shredder Points used for Mythic items have been removed. Mythic items can now be purchased directly using Credits.

  • Recommended items will now appear first when purchasing. You can still access the full item list via a separate button.

Infusion

  • You can now select one Infusion at the start of Phases 1 through 3.

    • Infusions no longer cost Credits and you can no longer upgrade Infusions.

    • Infusions now have different rarities based on their type.

    • Infusions that go well with your character will appear first.

  • Certain Infusions, including Party Rocker, have been removed from the game.

Matchmaking

  • 4P Premade Teams will only be matched with other 4P Premade Teams.

Check out more details of the changes to Cobalt Protocol below!

Cobalt Protocol Changes

Entry Level Change

  • Level 15 → Level 3

Character Selection

You can now select any character you want. However, you will not be able to see which characters the enemy team has chosen.

Phase Change Animation

A new transition animation has been added between certain phases during the game to make phase changes feel more natural and noticeable.

Checkmate Animation

We’re also adding the Checkmate voice line and slow-motion effect when a winner is determined in Cobalt Protocol.

Revival

  • When a character dies, they will now respawn at the allied base instead of the Control Room.

  • The respawn timer has been adjusted to better match the updated game pace.

  • You can now use the Synthesizer within the allied base, but it will deactivate once you leave the base.

Synthesizer

Along with the Synthesizer UI revamp, we’re also updating the Infusion and item purchase systems.

The Shredder and Shredding Points have been removed, and Mythic items can now be purchased through the Synthesizer starting from Phase 3.

Item Selection System

If you don't find an item you want among the recommended items during the Starting Equipment Draft or Extra Equipment Draft, a new feature now allows you to view the full item list and select any item you wish.

Additionally, when selecting an item, it will now automatically replace the corresponding item you currently have equipped.

Recommended Item System Revamp

Based on gameplay data from Lumia Island, the system now recommends three items with the highest usage rates for each Character and Weapon Type. For Legendary equipment, Force Core items, which have a higher Special Material value, will be prioritized, with a few exceptions.

Layout Changes

The Bio Sector, where Wild Animals previously spawned, has been removed, and new paths connecting each team's base to the Drone Room have been added.

  • With the removal of the Bio Sector, Wild Animals (excluding Drones) will no longer spawn in the game.

  • A brush has been added near the Drone room.

  • The outer walls between the Left and Right Sector Power Beacons and the Central Power Beacon have been removed, allowing for freer movement across the map.

  • A scoreboard displaying each team's Life Points has been added below each Power Beacon.

  • A White Lily has been added above the Left and Right Sector Power Beacons.

  • The Heal Pack above the Central Power Beacon has been removed. A new Heal Pack has been placed inside the Boss Room instead.

The Deploying Loop has been relocated to inside the allied base.

Defense Turret

To prevent certain characters from ignoring turret attacks and infiltrating allied bases, the Defense Turret’s attack detection and damage type have been adjusted.

  • Damage Type: Basic Attack Damage → True Damage

  • Attack Detection: Basic Attack Detection → Skill Attack Detection

Power Beacons

  • The buff effect previously granted to the entire team upon capturing a Power Beacon has been removed.

  • Regardless of whether the power beacon has been captured or not, they now provide a 2m Vision Range around them.

  • At the start of Phase 3, all Power Beacons except for the Central Power Beacon will be deactivated.

    • If a Power Beacon is deactivated while captured, the Life Point loss from its capture will be applied immediately.

  • The amount of time required to maintain a power beacon captured and consume enemy life points has been reduced.

    • 45s → 40s

Life Points

We’re adjusting Life Points at different stages of the game.

  • Start 40 Points → 45 Points

  • Keeping Power Beacons Under Capture

    • Phase 1

      • 2 Points → 1 Point

  • Gamma Kill

    • 8 Points → 5 Points

Credits

  • Overall Credits balancing has been adjusted.

  • Capturing a Power Beacon now grants 5 Credits.

  • If there is a large Life Point gap when entering specific phases, additional Credits will be given to the disadvantaged team:

    • Phase 2: 5 Credits per 1 Life Point difference

    • Phase 3: 5 Credits per 1 Life Point difference

Heal Pack / Enhanced Heal Pack

Heal Pack recovery has been slightly reduced and the recovery for the Enhanced Heal Pack, obtained by hunting Omega, has been significantly reduced.

Rest

  • The healing amount from resting has been reduced to 70% of the original amount only in Cobalt Protocol.

Infusion

  • Infusions are granted at the start of Phase 1, 2, 3.

  • Choosing an Infusion no longer consumes Credits.

  • Infusions have different rarities and all players can choose one 1 out of 3 Infusions of the same rarity.

    • The rarity of Infusions available each phase is determined by probability, with higher-rarity Infusions becoming more likely to appear as the game progresses.

    • Certain Infusions will only appear under special conditions.

  • Infusions that go well with the character you selected will appear first.

Tactical Skills

  • At the start of the game, you can now choose one Tactical Skill from a selection of 2 fixed Tactical Skills and 4 random Tactical Skills.

  • The full list of selectable Tactical Skills will be provided in the detailed Cobalt Protocol Revamp Patch Notes.

  • Nadine

    • Wild(P)

      • Stacks 50 → 100
