PATCH NOTES 8.2 - JULY 24TH, 2025

Servers will be temporarily offline for an estimated time of 4 hours on Thursday, July 24th from 2 AM to 6 AM (UTC) to update Patch 8.2.


New Character - Xuelin

Rapier-wielder Xuelin is joining the experiment!

Xuelin will be available for 9,900 A-Coin for two weeks after launch and will not be available in Ranked matches until July 29th.

The Chosen One (P)

Hitting with basic attacks or basic skills, grants her a stack of Lingering Blade. At 3 stacks, her next basic attack is enhanced, throwing her energy sword at the target and dealing 20/40/60(+Attack Power 30/40/50%) additional skill damage. The cooldown of Flying Sword and TFTH are reduced by 2 seconds and she recovers 20/40/60(+Attack Power 50%) HP. If the enemy is a wild animal, recovery effects are decreased to 60%.


Flying Sword (Q)

Xuelin throws her energy sword, dealing 60/70/80/90/100(+Attack Power 60%) skill damage to enemies along its path. When it reaches the designated location, it spins for 2 seconds, dealing 40/50/60/70/80(+Attack Power 40%) skill damage every 0.4 seconds to enemies within range.

Touching the spinning energy sword retrieves it, restoring 70% of TFTH’s cooldown. The retrieved sword then orbits Xuelin for 2.5 seconds, dealing 30/35/40/45/50(+Attack Power 35%) skill damage every 0.5 seconds to enemies within range.

  • Energy Swords Throw Range: 3.5m ~ 5.5m

  • Energy Swords Range: Circular Radius 1.65m

  • Spin Attack Area: Circular Radius 2.65m

  • Cooldown: 12/11/10/9/8s

Sacred Sword (W)

Xuelin is guarded by the manifested swords, becoming immune to crowd control and taking no damage for 0.75s. She then throws a sword in the targeted direction, dealing 50/70/90/110/130(+Attack Power 90%) skill damage to the first enemy character hit and slowing them by 50% for 1s.

If immobilizing effects are blocked during this time, she gains 3 stacks of Lingering Blade, deals 100/130/160/190/220(+Attack Power 100%) skill damage and stuns the target for 1 seconds instead of slowing them.

Passes through all targets except Enemy Characters.

TFTH (Too Fast To Hit) (E)

Xuelin dashes in the targeted direction, dealing 60/70/80/90/100(+Attack Power 55%) skill damage to enemies along the path and slowing them by 30% for 1 second. After the dash, an energy sword falls along the path, dealing 60/90/120/150/180(+Attack Power 70%) skill damage to enemies within the area.

  • Dash Range: 4m

  • Dash Duration: 0.3s

  • Sword Fall Range: 4.2m * 2m

  • Cooldown: 14/13.5/13/12.5/12s

Return of the Blades (R)

Xuelin creates an electromagnetic field of swords, dealing 100/175/250(+Attack Power 70%) skill damage. The field remains for seconds. Whenever Xuelin deals separate damage to an enemy within the field, an energy sword strikes the target, dealing 10/20/30(+Attack Power 10/15/20%) additional skill damage. The 5th falling sword is enhanced, striking the target, dealing 20/40/60(+Attack Power 15/25/35%) additional skill damage nearby and slowing them by 30% for 0.5 seconds.

When Xuelin arrives outside the field after using TFTH, the energy swords at the edge of the field return to her, dealing 100/200/300(+Attack Power 85%) skill damage to enemies along the path. Starting from the 2nd hit, damage is reduced by 80%.

The energy swords are only retrieved when [TFTH (Too Fast To Hit)] arrival point is within 20m of the field.

Ranked Matchmaking Adjustments

North America Server

  • The top-tier queue will have stricter matchmaking, with the highest tier restricted to players with Platinum 2+.


New Skill Cast Keybind Option

If you primarily use Quick Cast but occasionally want to use Normal Cast, you can now assign a separate key for it.

  • We’re adding a separate keybind for ‘Normal Cast’, allowing players to assign a key that triggers normal skill casting even when Quick Cast is enabled.

    • This key is unassigned by default.

    • If you'd like to use it, you can assign it manually under [Settings → Input].


VLS Expanded Map(M) Auto-Activation

We're adding a new option to automatically activate the Expanded Map (M) when using the VLS.

  • The Expanded Map(M) is automatically activated as soon as you start using a vertical launch device.

  • The map stays open after launch and can be closed manually with the (M) key.

 

  • This option is enabled by default in your settings.

  • If you'd like to disable/enable it, you can manually do so under [Settings → Game].


Scoreboard (Tab) Wickeline Buff Indicator & Other UI Improvements

The Scoreboard (Tab) now highlights which team killed Dr. Wickeline while the buff is active.

  • A special visual indicator will appear on the Scoreboard (Tab) for the duration of the buff on the team that killed Wickeline.

  • The buff’s highlighting effect also applies to the spectator UI.



We’re also making additional improvements to the spectator interface to make it easier to assess player status at a glance.

  • Security Console and CCTV Team Information

    • You can now see the occupying team's name and unique color for each Security Console by pressing Alt to activate the info overlay in Spectating Mode.

    • CCTV coverage areas will also be displayed in the occupying team’s color (Hotkey: F11) in Spectating Mode.


  • Player Main Action Icons

    • We’re adding new icons to Spectating mode. These appear next to each player's name to indicate their current actions. 

    • You're now able to quickly identify when a player is using a Flare Gun or VLS, entering a Rift or Combat Lab, interacting with Lumi, or engaging in combat.

Rift - Dimensional Rift Improvements

We’re making some adjustments to reduce the long-term burden of the Restricted Area Explosion Timer when entering the Dimensional Rift on Day 2.

  • The explosion timer will now be restored to 15 seconds if it falls below that threshold once a battle in the Combat Lab ends, regardless of win or loss.


Additionally, we’re adding a Kiosk near the Dimensional Rift entrance, allowing teams to spend Credits and prepare before entering the battle.

Tactical Skills Selection Process Revamp

You can now choose your preferred Tactical Skill at the start of the game, offering greater strategic flexibility.

  • 1out of 14 Tactical Skills can be selected.

  • Recommended Tactical Skills are displayed at the top.

  • Powerful Tactical Skills like Meteor are limited to (1) Per Team.

    • Per Team Tactical Skills will appear for one random member of the team.

  • Healing Wind, Protocol Violation, and Soul Stealer will not appear.


Game Preparation Phase Enemy Team’s Nicknames

You can now see the nicknames of the enemy team in the Game Preparation Phase in Cobalt Protocol.

  • Enemy team nicknames are now visible during the Game Preparation Phase in Cobalt Protocol if players in the enemy team haven’t enabled the ‘Hide Nickname’ option.

  • Players using the ‘Hide Nickname’ option will still appear as “Character N” as before.

  • Spectating Custom Games: Team slots now display correctly for spectators after selecting Randomize Team Numbers.

  • Practice Mode: See Less UI is no longer triggered when function descriptions are still active.

  • Character Backgrounds now display correctly in Status Information.

  • Cobalt Protocol: 

    • Tactical Skill icons no longer appear disabled after switching them during cooldown.

    • A.M.D.S Infusion’s damage effect and actual damage now align.

    • A.M.D.S Infusion's immunity to skill effects now activates properly.

    • Interaction effects now display correctly when capturing deactivated Power Beacons.

    • Kill and down counts are now recorded correctly in the result screen when players are eliminated right before the match ends.


Character & Weapon Improvements

  • Projectile identification effects will now apply correctly from both ally and enemy perspectives.

  • The cast time of Rapier skill Quick Cut (D) is no longer affected by Attack Speed.

  • Nadine: Squirrel Trap (W)’s trap link effects will now display correctly.

  • Nicky’s animations now display properly.

  • Tia: Brush Stroke (Q) no longer casts instantly while using regular cast.

  • Laura: Calling Card (W)’s level-up tooltip now correctly shows slow amount.

  • Lenox: Snakebite (W) will now work properly when used while interacting with Warps.

  • Martina: 

    • Fast Forward (Q) now correctly applies Cooldown Reduction on hit.

    • She no longer instantly gains full Pause - Broadcast (W) stacks when entering broadcast mode.

  • Markus: Ocean Warrior skin now shows correct Art of War (Q) effects when switching to Hammer.

  • Bianca: Reign of the Vampire Queen (R) now works properly when used while interacting with Warps.

  • Alex: Infiltration (P) area effect no longer rotates with Alex’s movement.

  • Echion: VF Overflow (R)'s tooltip now displays correct attack range reduction values.

  • Elena 

    • We’ve improved Identification effects.

    • Using Crystal Elegance (Q) right after Double Axel (W) no longer triggers Augment Circular System only once.

  • Justyna: Justice Prefect skin now correctly displays the laser effect when opening an Air Supply Box.

  • Irem: Bouncy Ball (Q) no longer activates immediately after transforming from cat form.

    • We’ve improved Identification effects.

    • Her animation effects are now displayed correctly.

    • Light Triad (Q)’s animation effects are now displayed correctly after using the skill.

  • Ly Anh will no longer unintendedly receive Skill Amplification Infusions in Cobalt Protocol.

  • Tsubame: Blue Wave Tsubame’s leg modeling in lobby animation now displays properly.

  • Camilo’s animation effects are now correctly displayed after a basic attack using Dual Swords while Stopped.

  • Katja’s Lategame Item Recommendations on the default Saved Plans are now properly configured.

  • Kenneth: Fierce Attack (E)’s enhanced basic attacks now correctly apply separate damage as intended.

  • Chloe: Nina can now normally return to the intended location when Puppet Theatre (W) is reused.

  • Tazia: Paradiso (R)'s explosion damage no longer triggers Eco Objectives when her large sword destroys.


Lobby Improvements

  • The guide now includes explanations for Crafting Menu’s Remote Drones and Quick Slots.

  • You can now click on the in-game broadcast banner to select a streaming platform.

  • Acquiring Season Fragments now correctly triggers a notification in the Collection tab.

  • Profile now correctly displays the Search bar location across resolutions.

  • Profile > League: Mouse wheel scrolling now functions properly.

  • Ly Anh’s lobby animation effects no longer appear on other characters.

  • Only properly set additional hotkeys are now displayed.

  • Gadget - Hunter’s Pot use count is now correctly recorded in Week 1 of the ER Pass Academy missions.

  • Profile > Summary: Top Placements (Ratio) is now correctly displayed.

  • Detailed Guide > Cube: Unavailable cubes no longer appear.

  • Custom Games: Kill score and total score now align properly in the results screen while Tournament Score is enabled.

  • Popup buttons now appear correctly across different resolution settings.

  • Operator Detailed Settings: The final safe zone now includes the temporary safe zone as expected.

  • Character Page: Select Character button is now normally displayed when entering Practice Mode through Try Out Character.
