New Character & Emotes

Street Fiend Karla (Rare) will be available.

“Survival of the fittest!”

Echion’s Emotes will be available.

System

Game Preparation Phase Tactical Skills & Augments

You can now check other players' Tactical Skills and Augments during the game preparation phase and loading.

Minimap Info and Guides Improvements

Minimap information will become a bit easier to look at.

  • We’re prioritizing minimap icons. Now, the number of people in an area will no longer be covered by other icons when respawning.

  • Wild Animals display has been improved. The difference between live and dead Wild Animals will now be clearer.

  • The Launching Pad in Pond is now shown in the minimap.

  • Tree of Life icon now has an outline to make it more visible.

  • Meteorite spawn locations will now be grouped together in one when in close proximity to each other in Crafting Guide.

  • When the Saved Plan path is outlined, it is now drawn to a more accurate location than before.

Collectibles Overlays and Box Pinging Improvements

  • You can now see a yellow mark on top of the collectibles you need on your Saved Plan.

  • When you Alt+Left-click an item in a box or corpse, it will now ping the box to your teammates.

Briefing Room Sound Effects Improvements

  • Now, when you adjust the Briefing Room volume, the character's voice volume in the Briefing Room will also be adjusted.

Operator Nadja Improvements

Operator Nadja is getting smarter!

  • If you move to a new area without collecting all the necessary materials, instead of repeating the instructions to go back to the previous area, she will naturally move on to the next lines.

  • Operator Nadja will alert the team when there are only two teams left, even when using the expert mode.

  • After hitting a certain account level, Nadja will suggest you to change your settings to expert.

Minimum Team Requirements Changes

Games with too many missing teams will no longer start.

  • The game will not start until at least 7 teams have successfully joined.

  • If the number of teams is 6 or fewer, the match will be canceled and remade.

Patch Change Thought Process and Direction
  • Changes regarding test subjects are mainly based on statistics.

    • Changes are mainly based on top-ranked statistics. Different variables are taken into consideration, but with the changes to the game, we will be mainly looking at the data sample of the top 2000, up to 5000. Hotfix changes will only occur from onwards for critical issues.

    • A large part of the player base is in the low and mid-tier ranks. If a character is overly strong in these lower-ranked divisions, adjustments may be made.

    • As Eternal Return Esports continues, we may make balancing changes for the competitive level based on tournament play.

    • Basic metrics include win rate, average kills, ranked points earned, average kills/damage dealt/damage taken per position, etc. However, since this is not a game where positions are assigned in advance, the mix of positions cannot be completely controlled statistically, and we aim for a mix of positions to coexist without becoming too extreme.

  • The biggest goal of the balance update is to help a diversity of characters.

    • We will be toning down characters that are doing overly well in statistics, but helping characters that have low statistics in both high and low-ranked play. While there are more adjustments to help test subjects, the characters that are being toned down have a higher pick rate.

    • Upper and lower-rank statistics are very different. If a character is shown to be strong in either rank division, they will be excluded from the list of characters getting help.

  • The new items, Axe Scarlet Scythe and Arcana The Death, are top-tier weapons that use VF blood samples. In the future, VF blood sample weapons suitable for all weapon families and main builds will be added in stages.

  • We're updating the system to improve combats in Temporary Safe Areas. Please refer to the following information.

Day/Night Time Changes
We are increasing the amount of time of Day 5 - when teams can no longer be revived at the Kiosk, reducing the frequency of too many teams surviving until the Temporary Safe Area phase.

  • Day 5 100s → 120s

Restricted Area Count Changes

If more than three teams remain in a Temporary Safe Area, whoever initiates the battle first is often at a disadvantage. So we're making a number of improvements to Safe Areas in the upcoming 1.7 update.

  • Satellite Radar and Security Consoles will be disabled when a temporary safe area begins.

  • The border color of the temporary safe area without visibility has been fixed to green, making it impossible to check whether or not there is a battle through the fog of war.

  • The distance between temporary safe areas will be increased.

  • If only two teams remain during the temporary safe area phase, the temporary safe area will end immediately, allowing the team that won the battle to have time to regroup without spending additional time in the restricted area.

In this update, we're rolling out a batch of smaller adjustments to improve the final zone but will make bigger changes down the road.

  • The amount of Restricted Areas will decrease in the early and mid-game.

    • Restricted Areas count at start 25s → 20s

    • Maximum count of Restricted Areas by the end of Day 5 40s → 30s

  • When killing an enemy, the timer is recovered, and the minimum value will be a bit higher upon revival instead of 0.

    • Restricted Areas timer count recovery from enemy kills 3s → 4s

    • Restricted Areas timer count upon kiosk revival when the count is 0 seconds 1s → 7s

  • We are lowering the time gained from Night 5 to persuade players to fight earlier while compensating the timer given in Night 6.

    • Night 5 Restricted Area Count Recovery 15s → 10s

    • Night 6 Restricted Area Count Recovery 10s → 15s

Separately, we are looking to address gameplay where players can leave an enemy in a Downed state to stop enemies from reviving through the Kiosk. However, if revives for downed states can happen, players can revive their teammates mid-team fight if there is a kiosk nearby. Therefore, we’ll be disallowing instant kiosk revivals for downed state teammates.

  • Glove - Uppercut (D)

    • Range 1m → 1.35m

  • Axe - Maleficent Helix (D)

    • Casting time 3s → 2.5s

Characters

Nadine

Nadine has overall good stats, especially her win rate and average damage, so we’re reducing her attack power per level to make her less powerful in the late game.

  • Attack Power per Level 5.2 → 4.9

Nathapon

For a ranged DPS, Nathapon has a relatively low average damage, so we’re increasing the damage of Q - Snapshot to enhance his combat abilities.

  • Snapshot (Q)

    • Damage 50/85/120/155/190(Skill Amplification 70%) → 50/85/120/155/190(Skill Amplification 75%)

Daniel

We’re toning down Daniel’s power by lowering R - Masterpiece’s damage output, which does not have many countermeasures.

  • Masterpiece (R)

    • Damage Over Time 60/90/120(+Attack Power 35%) → 60/90/120(+Attack Power 30%)

    • Reactivation Damage 50/100/150(+Attack Power 50%) → 50/100/150(+Attack Power 40%)

Debi & Marlene

R - Twins Rush’s hit interaction will be changed. Enemies will no longer be dragged if they are out of the hitbox at the end of the motion, even if they are the first to be hit. We're adjusting the pre-delay to match the prioritization change, and additionally giving them more durability.

  • HP per Level 80 → 83

  • Twins Rush (R)

    • Pre-delay 0.75s → 0.7s

    • Interaction Change

      • Enemies who are out of the hitbox at the end of the motion will no longer be dragged back.

Laura

Laura has been showing a strong performance after the changes to W - Calling Card. We are toning it down, and lowering some of her damage from ultimate.

  • Calling Card (W)

    • Slow on Targeted Enemies 40% → 30%

  • Twilight Heist (R)

    • Damage 180/340/500(+Skill Amplification 110%) → 160/320/480(+Skill Amplification 100%)

Lenox

Lenox currently doesn't have enough durability as a tank, so we're strengthening P - Bait and Tackle’s durability by increasing its duration. We're also increasing Q - Recoil’s HP scaling, giving Lenox more reward for choosing items with Max HP.

  • Bait and Tackle (P)

    • Shield Duration 3s → 5s

  • Recoil (Q)

    • Additional Edge Damage to Lenox Max HP 2/4/6/8/10% → 3/5/7/9/11%

Leon

Leon has a low pick rate and average damage, especially with Glove, so we are giving him some help when fighting up close.

  • Human Torpedo (P)

    • Additional True Damage on Basic Attacks 10/25/40(+Skill Amplification 18%) → 10/30/50(+Skill Amplification 20%)

Rio

Rio has not been performing well, especially in the lower ranks. We are giving Rio more durability, while reducing the cooldown of Q - Kyudo Instinct to make her easier to play, and increasing her R - Spirit Arrow, which is hard to hit but has low return.

  • Base HP 755 → 790

  • Kyudo Instinct (Q)

    • Cooldown 1s → 0.8s

  • Fleeting Soul / Spirit Arrow (R)

    • Spirit Arrow (Daikyu R)

      • Slowed Duration 1s → 1.5s

Martina

Martina's R- Record stack missions are a unique feature and part of her appeal, but not being able to join her teammates in Squad Mode for extended periods of time can be frustrating for both parties. We’re lowering the required stacks for Martina, allowing her to rejoin her teammates more quickly.

  • Record (R)

    • Record Stacks to start Broadcast 8 → 7

Mai

Mai has been performing well. We’re toning down her W - Shawl Veil to slightly weaken her movement, durability and ability to protect allies.

  • Shawl Veil (W)

    • Movement Speed Increase 10/14/18/22/26% → 8/11/14/17/20%

    • Defense Increase 20/22/24/26/28% → 16/18/20/22/24%

Markus

Markus has seen a lot of play in the last update as his combat sustain has improved his overall performance, but his win rate and MMR gains are below average. As we are adjusting D - Maleficent Helix, we’re increasing W - Havoc’s range to compensate and help him in combat.

  • Havoc (W)

    • Range 4m → 5m

Magnus

We’re increasing the power of Magnus, especially his bat counterparts.

  • Basic Attack Amplification per Bat Mastery Level 3.8% → 4.0%

  • Heavy Strike(E)

    • Damage 40/90/140/190/240(+Additional Attack Power 40%)(+Skill Amplification 60%)(+Target’s Max HP 10%) → 40/90/140/190/240(+Additional Attack Power 55%)(+Skill Amplification 60%)(+Target’s Max HP 10%)

Bernice

Bernice has a high pick rate and win rate. By reducing the vision range of Bernice's W - Foothold Trap, Bernice's ability to obtain information will be lower. Additionally, we have reduced the spread range of the R - Explosive Bola shot, reducing Bernice's power in team fights.

  • Foothold Trap (W)

    • Vision Range 4m → 2m

  • Explosive Bola (R)

    • Spread Range 3m → 2.5m

Xiukai

Xiukai has been showing low pick rates. By improving W - Eat Up!, we’re further enhancing his ability to support allies.

  • Eat Up! (W)

    • Recovery 20/55/90/125/160(+Max HP 5%)(+Number of Juggernaut Chef stacks) → 20/55/90/125/160(+Max HP 6%)(+Number of Juggernaut Chef stacks)

    • Cooldown 16/15/14/13/12s → 15/14/13/12/11s

Shoichi

Shoichi has strong movement abilities and area of effect damage, but his durability is higher than average. Since Shoichi is currently strongly performing in many stat criteria, we are lowering his durability to punish bad approaches to fights.

  • Base Defense 44 → 40

Sua

Hammer Sua is getting some help.

  • Attack Speed per Hammer Mastery Level 1.5% → 2%

Sissela

We’re giving Throw Sissela more help with Attack Speed, allowing her to utilize her passive naturally.

  • Attack Speed per Throw Mastery Level 2.5% → 3%

Silvia

We are compensating for the change by increasing the range. We're also increasing the basic attack damage from dismounting the bike with R - Shift Gears for more damage.

  • Front Flip (Bike W)

    • Range 1.75m → 2m

  • Shift Gears (R)

    • Extra Basic Attack Damage 20/40/60(+Attack Power 100%)(+Skill Amplification 45%) → 20/60/100(+Attack Power 100%)(+Skill Amplification 50%)

Adela

Adela usually shows stronger performance in the competitive level of play but has been showing poor performance in all tiers of ranked play. We are reducing the SP Cost of Q - Promotion and reducing the cooldown of E - Castling. For damage, we are only giving additional help to the underperforming Rapier counterpart.

  • Skill Amplification per Rapier Mastery Level 4.3% → 4.5%

  • Promotion (Q)

    • SP Cost 50/65/80/95/110 → 50/55/60/65/70

    • Projectile Speed 12m/s → 15m/s

  • Nimrod's Tombstone (E)

    • Shamash's Code(R-Q)

      • Projectile Speed 12m/s → 15m/s

Abigail

While Axe Skill will be weaker, we are increasing Abigail’s damage through natural scaling, and reducing the range of W - Dimensional Cleave and R - Dimensional Strike. We are also increasing the E - Quantum Leap’s cooldown when attempted to be used consecutively to reduce players unintendedly casting the skill twice.

  • Skill Amplification per Axe Mastery Level 3.3% → 4.2%

  • Dimensional Cleave (W)

    • Range 6.6m → 5.75m

  • Quantum Leap (E)

    • Reuse minimum wait time 0.09s → 0.15s

  • Dimensional Strike (R)

    • Range 4m → 3.5m

    • The skill range will be displayed immediately after casting.

Aya

Skill Amplification Aya is currently underperforming in all stats, so we’re increasing her combat ability by reducing the cooldown of her primary skill W - Steady Shot.

  • Steady Shot (W)

    • Cooldown 12/11/10/9/8s → 11/10/9/8/7s

Isaac

As a skill with a short cooldown, W - Reinforce's Shield Havoc was overly effective against all shield test subjects, tactical skills, and items. As the shield break has been moved to E2 - Arrest, the skill now has to be used more carefully. To compensate, we are helping Isaac through durability and damage.

  • Base Defense 39 → 43

    • Recovery

      • 80/120/160% of Damage → 100/150/200%

      • Shield destruction on Target’s Hit(NEW)

  • Knee Strike (Q)

    • Damage 60/90/120/150/180(+Additional Attack Power 80%)(+Skill Amplification 60%) → 80/110/140/170/200(+Additional Attack Power 80%)(+Skill Amplification 60%)

We’re improving the power of the underused Throw Zahir.

We’re increasing Jackie's basic attack speed to increase the efficiency of item builds centered on attack speed.

  • Basic Attack Speed 0.08 → 0.1

Jenny

Jenny's combat varies greatly depending on the presence or absence of P - Play Dead. As the tempo of the game has become faster and there are more fights, we are trying to help Jenny keep up with the game by reducing her passive cooldown.

  • Play Dead (P)

    • Cooldown 180/150/120s → 150/120/90s

Camilo

Camilo has a very low pick rate. It has particularly low statistics in the middle and lower ranks, so we’re helping his survival by strengthening durability.

  • Base Defense 40 → 43

We are reducing the power of Q - Double Bypass's basic attack, which is impossible to dodge. We are also reducing her high-skill damage on her ultimate to contest her power in team fights.

Theodore

We’re boosting Theodore's Basic Attack Speed, making attack speed items more effective.

Felix

Felix has a high win rate, damage output, and average RP gain. To contest the survivability improvements we made in the last patch with durability buffs, his high damage output will be toned down, and his third combo, Q - Wind Scar! is being toned down for its effectiveness with tactical skills.

  • Skill Amplification per Spear Mastery Level 4.5% → 4.7%

Piolo

Piolo deals a lot of damage when he's in close proximity to enemies, but it's not easy in the current environment. So we're strengthening his base durability, and reducing the cooldown of E - Stalled Throw / Skyward Pummel so he can use the skill to approach the fight.

  • Defense per Level 3 → 3.3
