Season 6 Highlight 1 - Vertical Launching System (VLS)

We're introducing a new means of transportation in Lumia Island! Use VLS devices to jump into the air, gliding toward nearby areas within a certain altitude.

New System - VLS & Gadget - Mobile VLS

  • VLS devices will replace Hyperloops starting on Day 3.
Starting from the 1.37 update, VLS devices will be activated in Safe Zones and Hyperloops in Restricted Areas.

  • The VLS doesn't support ultra-long-distance travel like Hyperloops but allows synchronized gliding with allies.

  • You can choose the direction of their glide by right-clicking before reaching the highest point.

  • At the highest point, your descent begins, with speed gradually decreasing over time.

    • Initial Descent Speed: 25m/s

    • Minimum Descent Speed: 5m/s

    • Duration of Descent: 7s

  • The Mobile VLS devices functions the same as the standard VLS but is a new Gadget that disappears after a single use and becomes available starting on Day 3.

Host and Guest

  • The player who completes the operation of the VLS device or Mobile VLS device first becomes the Host, while the player who follows becomes the Guest.

  • The Host controls the launch timing and the direction for the team.

  • The Guest is dependent on the Host and follows the launch timing and movement direction decided by the Host.

    • However, the Guest can break free during the descent to independently control their movement direction.

Launch Preparation to Completion

  • The Host must keep operating the device until it is ready to launch.

  • After the operation is complete, the Host and Guest are launched vertically together using Left-Click.

Launch Phase

  • During the vertical ascent, both the Host and Guest cannot move horizontally.

  • At the highest point, gliding becomes possible. The direction of the glide can be determined beforehand by the Host using Right-Click.

Glide Phase

  • Once you descend below a certain altitude, both the Host and Guest gain visibility of the surroundings.

    • Altitude for visibility: 40m

    • Vision Range: 12m

Breaking Free as a Guest

  • Once at the ground-visibility altitude, the Guest can separate from the Host to control their movement independently.

  • Hold Right-Click to fill the Break Free gauge. Once full, the Guest breaks free and can direct their own movement.

Landing Phase

  • As the gliding altitude decreases, horizontal movement speed gradually slows down.

  • Upon landing, you and nearby targets are briefly stunned:

    • Descent to Landing Altitude: 10m

    • Landing Duration: 0.5s

    • Self-Stunned Duration: 1s

    • Enemy-Stunned Duration: 0.5s

Season 6 Highlight 2 - Secret Labs

The new area, Secret Labs, will be accessible with the Card Key item. There are four Secret Labs in total, each requiring the new Gadget: Loop Card Key for entry.

Loop Card Key

The Loop Card Key is an essential new item that summons a Mobile Loop, allowing access to the Secret Lab. There are two types of Loop Card Keys:

  • (NEW RARE) Loop Card Key

    • Source: Slay Ravens to get a Card Key at a certain probability

    • Effect: Call a Mobile Loop that takes you into a random common Lab

    • Available: After Night 2

  • (NEW RARE) Loop Card Key - γ(Gamma)

    • Source: Slay Mutant Ravens to get a Card Key at a certain probability

    • Effect: Call a Mobile Loop that takes you into the Special Lab

    • Available: After Night 3

Mobile Loop

  • The Mobile Loop, summonable using a Loop Card Key, allows players to travel to their designated Secret Lab based on the type of Card Key used.

  • The Mobile Loop cannot be used in the following situations:

    • Loops summoned by other teams are inaccessible.

    • Mobile Loops cannot be used after Day 6.

    • Each team can visit a Secret Lab only once. If a team has already visited one Secret Lab, further use of the Mobile Loop is restricted.

Common Lab

  • Credit Lab

    • Earn credits safely through different ways in this area.

  • Mutants Lab

    • This Secret Lab is dedicated to experiments on Mutant Wild Animals and is filled with numerous mutants. Slay them to earn rewards such as Credits, Mastery, Food and Special Materials at a certain probability.

  • Abandoned Lab

    • A Secret Lab, abandoned and overtaken by Bats, offers multiple vision and installation items for those who explore it.

Special Lab

  • Blue Lab

    • A Secret Lab imbued with a unique glow, where you can face Gamma, a powerful enemy not found elsewhere on Lumia Island, and earn substantial rewards through victory.

Season 6 Highlight 3 - Ravens

The Raven, a new Wild Animal that roams the darkness of Lumia Island, will be added to the experiment. Ravens drop valuable rewards and introduce another variable to your strategy.

Spawn & Movement

  • Spawn Time: Ravens spawn at the start of Night 1, with 1-2 appearing in each area.

  • Spawn Location: Ravens spawn randomly at designated points within their respective areas.

  • Movement Pattern: Ravens move randomly between their spawn points within an area.

  • Rest: Upon reaching a specific spawn point, Ravens will rest for 20 seconds.

Key Features

  • Caw Alert: When a Character approaches a Raven, it lets out a caw to reveal its location.

  • Special Item Drops: Ravens have a slightly higher chance of dropping Gadgets and a low chance of dropping a Secret Lab Card Key.

  • Raven Skill - Lucentberry: Defeating a Raven causes the fruit inside its stomach to explode, granting a 24-meter Vision Range for a short time. If an enemy Character is detected within this range, their location will be revealed for 4 seconds.

Gameplay Changes

Terminate & Clutch

A new feature now speeds up ally revival when achieving Terminate or Clutch during combat, making it easier to handle team interventions. We’re also improving visual effects.

Terminate

Terminate/Clutch activates when your team wipes out an enemy team.

  • You're healed for 15%(+30% of Lost HP) of your Max HP and 50% of your Max SP for 5 seconds per second and downed allies reconstruct 3 seconds faster.

  • Your movement speed increases by 1 for 2.5 seconds.

Clutch

Activates when you wipe out a team while being the only survivor in your team. This effect is even more powerful.

    • Can be purchased from Kiosks or Mobile Kiosks after Day 4, only if at least one teammate has died.

    • Purchasing the item initiates an Escape vote and at least two teammates need to agree to summon the Escape Loop.

      • If the vote fall through or no decision is reached within the time limit, a second vote will occur after 120 seconds.

    • This Card Key summons an Escape Loop that lasts for 30 seconds and allows the team to move to the escape area.

      • You can’t use other team’s Loop Card Keys.

      • You can’t use Escape Loops summoned by other teams.

Assist Credits Reduction for Distant Teammates

Assist Credits will now be reduced by 50% if a Wild Animal is slain while a teammate is positioned beyond a certain distance. This change aims to balance the advantage of split operations during Night 1 and encourage the benefits of team-oriented play.

We will continue to adjust and refine the system to ensure no single strategy dominates and to promote diverse Loadout choices based on the situation.

Technical Adjustment related to Season 6 Gameplay

Character Stat Improvements

Movement Speed Formula Change

We’re updating the formula for calculating Movement Speed to enhance clarity and balance:

  • Previous Formula: Add all Increase % values, then subtract the highest Slow % value (additive method).

  • Updated Formula: Add all Increase % values, then multiply by the highest Slow % value (multiplicative method).

    • This ensures that Slow % are more impactful and are no longer offset by excessive increases.

    • Example:

      • Base Movement Speed: 4.0

      • Movement Speed Increase 1: 20%

      • Movement Speed Increase 2: 30%

      • Slow: 50%

      • Updated Calculation: 4.0 * (1+0.2+0.3) * (1-0.5) = 4 * 1.5 * 0.5 = 3.0

Movement Speed Caps

Movement Speed calculations are capped based on specific ranges:

  • Below 0: Set to a minimum of 1.0.

  • 0 to 2.0: Apply 50% of the calculated value, with a minimum of 1.0.

  • 2.0 to 4.2: No cap applies.

  • 4.2 to 5.0: Additional Movement Speed is applied at 80%.

    • Example:

      • Movement Speed 4.0

      • Movement Speed Increase 20%

      • Regular: 4.8 Movement Speed

      • With Cap: 4.68 Movement Speed

  • Above 5.0: Additional Movement Speed is applied at 60%.

    • Example:

      • Movement Speed 4.0

      • Movement Speed Increase 50%

      • Regular: 6.0 Movement Speed

      • With Cap: 5.44 Movement Speed

New Stat - Slow (% ) Resistance

  • This new stat, Slow Resistance, reduces the percentage of Slow effect applied, instead of the effect’s duration.

Maximum Movement Speed Uncapped

  • Since we’re adding caps per movement speed range, we’re getting rid of the 7.0 Max movement speed cap.

  • However, there will be no changes to characters with individual movement speed caps.

Attack Speed Caps

We’re also adding a cap to prevent extremely low attack speed values:

  • Calculated Attack Speed is below 0: Attack Speed is set to a minimum of 0.2.

  • Calculated Attack Speed is 0 to 0.4: 50% of Calculated Attack Speed + Min AP 0.2
